BackgroundHerrington Elementary School is named for Linda (Strout) Herrington. Herrington served as a teacher at several campuses before being named the district’s first female secondary school principal at Grisham Middle School in 1987. She also opened the second Hopewell Middle School in 2001 where she served as principal until her retirement from public education in 2003. Linda Herrington passed away on Oct. 9, 2010.
