Dual Language Education
Developing Bi-Literate, Bi-Cultural, and Bilingual Students
Round Rock ISD is now offering an innovative program where children from all backgrounds will be empowered through Dual Language Education in English and Spanish. Union Hill Elementary and Herrington Elementary are seeking names of English speaking students entering Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd Grade who are interested in learning more about the Dual Language Program. This information meeting is also for any 4th and 5th grade students who are interested in Spanish Enrichment through this new program.
Program Goals:
- Develop reading, writing and speaking in both English and Spanish
- Build a strong academic base in both languages
- Grow appreciation of other cultures
When entering today’s workforce, job candidates who speak multiple languages are in high demand. Research tells us that developing a second language as a young learner is much easier than acquiring a second language as an adult.
Consider giving your child the gift of bilingualism by learning Spanish at a young age! Please call us to learn more and/or attend the Parent Information Meeting.

Developing Bi-Literate, Bi-Cultural, and Bilingual Students
El distrito de Round Rock está ofreciendo un programa innovador donde los alumnos de diferentes antecedentes culturales podrán recibir la educación en ingles y en español por la educación del programa Bilingüe de Doble Inmersión. Las escuelas Elementales de Unión Hill y Herrington están buscando alumnos candidatos que su primer idioma es ingles y vayan a entrar a Pre-K hasta el 3er Grado que este interesado en aprender mas sobre el Programa de Doble Inmersión. Esta junta también es para alumnos que estarán en 4o y 5o grado que estén interesados en un programa nuevo de enriquecimiento en español a base de este programa..
Metas del programa:
- Desarrollar la lectura, escritura, y poder hablar en los dos idiomas de Ingles y en español
- Preparar una base académica en los dos idiomas de ingles y español
- Crecer reconocimiento de otras culturas
Hoy en día candidatos para trabajo que hablan lenguaje múltiple están en alta demanda. Las investigaciones nos dicen que desarrollar un Segundo lenguaje de jóvenes es más fácil para adquirir una segunda lengua que como adulto.
¡Considere darle un regalo de bilingüismo a su hijo e hija al aprender español a una edad temprana!! Favor de llamarnos si necesita saber mas o le gustaría asistir la junta.
